This is like a bi-annual event at this point. A job opening is posted without compensation and we see two camps set up. The first argues that this is a passion-driven industry with super low revenues. And they are correct. But the second argues that unpaid internships put a massive barrier to entry on starting positions in esports and are more impactful to applicants of color as they are statistically less likely to have a safety net to fall back on. That side is also correct. There is no clear answer to this debate but I do believe internships should deliver impactful experience and some level of compensation.
